IDEA Rwanda is a local Non Governmental Organization based in Kigali, Rwanda. It is committed to promote the well being of the planet through helping Rwanda to emerge as a world leader in environmental solutions and to provide a model for future generation of how people can live and work in harmony with the nature for a more peaceful and sustainable world for all.

The idea to start this organization has been adapted in 2017 and initiated by Youth Ambassadors Project members (YAP members) as a new environmental model to respond to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG’s goal 1, 3, 4, 6,7,8,11,12,13, 14, 15, & 17).

The Youth Ambassadors’ Project (YAP) was a determined, dedicated and passionate team of volunteers that was established on 9th February 2016 in Kigali. YAP believed that the Rwandan youth is able to rewrite their own history and rebuild themselves, and enhance each other’s strength. YAP translated its activities through the Catalogue MF, U.R.I and worked hand-in-hand with the partnership of the National Youth Council that has a mission of facilitating and encouraging youth to participate in socio-economic development and transformation to a peaceful and prosperous and sustainable society.

In 2017, pushed by our passion for environmental sustainability and protection, YAP members decided to change the name from YAP to IDEA Rwanda and continued to involve the youth in all activities as we believed that the young people are the best agent of change who are able to address most pressing global environmental issues.

IDEA-Rwanda, filled with the burning desire of building a better planet for us and for the generations to come, wish to harness our energy and our potential TODAY in order to achieve this dream of PEACEFUL TOMORROW.
